In this programme, Paavo Järvi conducts answers from three countries: Debussy made French music shimmer and float, Dvořák was inspired by the Bohemian landscape where he spent his summers when composing his Symphony No. 8. And then there is the Violin Concerto No. 1 by the Polish composer Karol Szymanowski, written in 1916: this highly virtuosic, incredibly colourfully orchestrated work is a key work of its time - and a showpiece for the Georgian violinist Lisa Batiashvili. Steeped in tradition, this renowned concert hall is now resplendent again following its extensive renovation. This is also a cause for celebration for us, as the owners of our private bank, Hans G.
