Maerki Baumann has been supporting the Tonhalle-Orchestra Zurich for over a quarter of a century and will be sponsoring the concert with Paavo Järvi and Janine Jansen on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, during the 2025/2026 season:

Programm:
Tonhalle-Orchestra Zurich
Paavo Järvi (Music Director)
Janine Jansen (Violin)

Thomas Adès «Three Studies from Couperin»
Johannes Brahms Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 77
Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Symphony No. 3 in A minor, Op. 56, MWV N 18 “Scottish”

With her expressiveness and sense of sound, Janine Jansen is the perfect partner for the Tonhalle-Orchestra Zurich on this night. She blends the solo voice and orchestra in a unique way in the most famous violin concerto of the late Romantic period. The orchestra, conducted by Music Director Paavo Järvi, then performs Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's Symphony No. 3 in A minor, Op. 56, also known as the Scottish, which was completed in 1842. Mendelssohn was inspired to write this symphony during his travels in the Scottish Highlands in 1829.
