The Zurich-based private bank Maerki Baumann & Co. Ltd. has entered into a cooperation with Bitcoin Suisse Ltd., the leading Swiss provider of crypto financial services.

Maerki Baumann comes out on top in the 2024 private banking rating of the business magazine “Bilanz”: overall winner and best Swiss private bank

The family company will in future bundle its crypto offering under the new “ARCHIP by Maerki Baumann” brand.

Zurich-based Maerki Baumann & Co. AG was awarded the accolade of “summa cum laude” by the Elite Report for the 16th time. 

Zurich-based Maerki Baumann & Co. AG has once again been able to confirm its position at the top of Switzerland's private banking charts in 2023 after being named the second best Swiss private bank by the business magazine “Bilanz”. This is the fifth time that the family company has achieved a top rating after taking first place in 2022, 2021 and 2017 in addition to second place in 2019. After taking a leading position once more, Maerki Baumann was again recognised as a longstanding quality leader.

Maerki Baumann has entered into a cooperation with Redalpine Venture Partners AG, the leading Swiss venture capital firm. The cooperation will open up an additional alternative investment opportunity to clients of the Zurich-based private bank via the new “Venture Capital” focus module.

The Swiss private bank Maerki Baumann & Co. AG has put succession arrangements in place for its German business. Roger Arnet, who comes from within the bank, will take over his role as the new Head of Private Banking Germany on 1 January 2023.

In 2021, Maerki Baumann recorded a very pleasing business performance with substantial growth: client assets under management exceeded the symbolic threshold of CHF 10 billion for the first time, while net profit was doubled relative to the previous year to CHF 7.7 million.

Maerki Baumann has entered into a cooperation with Partners Group, a globally leading manager of private market investments. The cooperation will provide qualifying clients of the Zurich private bank with innovative access to attractive alternative investment opportunities.

It is the 14th year running that the bank has achieved this rating, thus securing its leading position as one of the top 51 banks in German-speaking Europe.

Maerki Baumann & Co. AG has appointed Gérard Piasko, a recognised financial markets expert, as its Chief Investment Officer. He will assume his new role at the Zurich-based private bank on 1 January 2018.
